Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cake : Family Recipe

This was the cake my mom would make for birthdays or potlucks, always in a bundt pan. Super good and easy to make. I decided to make it for her birthday the other day before realizing I didn't have a bundt pan... so I made two layers and it still worked perfectly fine. This is seriously a really good cake, but that being said it's not from scratch, which is not something I normally go for. But damn it's really good.

Ingredients:

1 package choc cake mix.

3 oz instant choc pudding

1/2 cup vegetable oil

1/2 cup warm water

1 small carton of sour cream

2 eggs

1 cup chocolate chips

Oven gets preheated to 350º If you're baking it in the bundt pan make sure it is slathered in butter and bake for 45 min. or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

If you're baking in two round 8in pans like me, butter them well also, and divide the batter evenly between the two pans. I baked them for around 30 minutes I believe, checking at 25 and giving them more time. Again just make sure the toothpick comes out clean when put in the center.

Do not refrigerate because the chocolate chips will become hard.

Here is a bit more information

To finish off my layer cake I added vanilla creme fraiche whipped cream in between the layers as well as fresh strawberries and strawberry syrup, and of course more cream and strawberries on top, and some violas and pansies for decoration. A chocolate frosting would be great on this too, really anything you can think that goes well with chocolate is so great with this!
